For my final MFA practical exhibition, I created a fictional studio in what was then a communal artist’s space in Commercial Street, Cape Town, South Africa. Each part of the installation was contrived to appear as if 2 and a half years' worth of work had been done there. A variety of false and authentic evidence was displayed in a seemingly casual manner. Post-it notes, which appeared to have been written as reminders to myself, acted in place of conventional museum/gallery labels to serve as guides towards navigating the installation. The studio pinboard provided clues towards motivations behind my body of work, alongside false leads.
